ladies. if you ever read and let my words sink in – let them hit home with you tonight. i mean it. and if you take nothing else away from your time spent reading this post, remember this: you are worth it.
“Find a guy who calls you beautiful instead of hot, who calls you back when you hang up on him, who will lie under the stars and listen to your heartbeat, or will stay awake just to watch you sleep. Wait for the boy who kisses your forehead, who wants to show you off to the world when you are in sweats, who holds your hand in front of his friends, who thinks you’re just as pretty without makeup on. One who is constantly reminding you of how much he cares and how lucky he is to have you. The one who turns to his friends and says, that’s her.”
i wish i could attribute this to some really wise person, but i can’t, because all signs point to “anonymous” or “unknown.” {frustrating!} if you’re a single lady {like yours truly}, questioning yourself, wondering if you’ll ever find the right guy, here’s what i have to say to you: quit it. stop questioning. start trusting. believe in your value. and don’t you dare settle for mister-right-now when mister-i’m-gonna-love-you-forever is still out there.
and dangit, be ready, because he’s going to find you, when you least expect it. he’ll be your best friend. he’ll make you swoon. he’ll think you’re sexy without your make-up on. he’ll love you for who you are. and he’ll believe in you. he’ll support you. he’ll challenge you. he’ll push you and help you grow. he’ll be real with you. he’ll make you laugh. he’ll wipe your tears. he’ll hold your hand. he’ll be proud of you. and he’ll make you a better person. so be ready, because when he finds you – game over.
i don’t know about you, but i think that is something worth waiting for.
It Exists!!!!! (i think…i’m only 6 months in to a relationship…i’ll check back in in another 6 months and let you know….!)
‘atta girl ewie!
You nailed it perfectly. Well said.
[...] Ellie nailed it tonight. [...]
You will find your Prince Charming when you least expect it! So says the happily married lady.
That’s the freakin’ Truth, Ellie! The person you thank God for every single day because God really did make this specific person 100% for You.
But sometimes Mr. Right is right in front of you. Mr. Right-now may not be settling but may be the one. Too many women miss that. Don’t make perfect the enemy of good.
